How this started
A few years ago, a friend was doing me a favour — replacing my roof. While he was up there working, his phone kept ringing. He'd answer, realise he couldn't have a proper conversation mid-job, and hang up. Over and over.
I asked him afterwards if he'd ever looked into a call answering service. He said yes, but it was too complicated to set up, too expensive, and he just didn't have the time to deal with it. So he kept missing calls. And probably kept losing jobs because of it.
That stuck with me. He was brilliant at his work. The phone problem had nothing to do with how good he was — it was just the reality of being on the tools all day. I wanted to fix that for him.
noema was built with him in mind: an AI that answers the call, handles it properly, and sends the tradie everything they need — while they keep working. Since then, we've worked closely with roofers, builders, cleaners, and plumbers to make sure it actually fits how they work.
